Ian Dickson, Project Manager
Ian has 30 years of experience in the construction and quantity surveying industry. He holds a Batchelor of Science in Quantity Surveying from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban and worked for WALTERS & SIMPSON, a leading QS firm during his academic years.
On qualifying as a quantity surveyor, Ian joined a small local builder, M.COLEMAN CONSTRUCTION before starting his own construction firm, HOLMES-DICKSON CONSTRUCTION (PTY) LTD.
He later purchased a tennis court company called TENECON NATAL, and operated this with the building company until 1994. He then moved to a large civil construction company, STEFANUTTI & BRESSAN, in charge of construction at the new ESTON SUGAR MILL in KZN.
Dickson now does quantity surveying, project management and residential development in the Nottingham Road area. This involves taking building projects from finalization of drawings to completion of construction, creating “Bill” or Schedule of Quantities, sourcing competitive bids from local builders, and coordinating and providing quality control on every facet of the build and site development process.
